Scotland

The doll on the left is an Effanbee,  Li’l  Innocents.  The tag reads, Hi, I’m Cindy. Today is the first day of school… The middle doll is Julie wearing a homemade tartan skirt.  Next to her is a Scottish dressed doll that has her clothes glued on. She can open/close her eyes and her arms move at the shoulders.

This tray cloth was embroidered over fifty years ago. Unfortunately it has been in a position where the sun has faded it.

The Effanbee doll is approx. 21 cm and the hard plastic doll is approx. 18 cm.

Tina has met up with her Scottish friend from the same era as her, the 1950’s. One of the Kiwi folk has arrived dressed in Scottish attire and plays some old Scottish songs on the bagpipe.
